About Carina Cashmere

Growing up in a travel company, I became interested in foreign cultures and distant countries at an early age. Tourism, guest services and the never-ending desire to travel finally brought me to Thun to the hotel management school. But deep down, I was still fascinated by textiles and handicrafts. When I traveled to Nepal for the first time in 2013, I couldn’t get enough of all the beautiful fabrics. The enthusiasm for Kashmir was born.

As a hotelier, however, I have a great demand for perfect quality and so those scarves which one gets offered in Kathmandu were not enough for me. Together with my mother, I went in search of a factory which carries our values and processes cashmere in the finest quality. To combine my two great passions like this is a dream come true. On the one hand, the support of people in a developing country, getting to know and building friendships with foreign cultures, but also the infinite beauty and purity of the scarves. The infinite shades make it incredibly difficult to choose, but also allow for creativity. The sparkle in my customers’ eyes after a color consultation is a nice sign for me that it’s not just me who is so fascinated by colors.
